My paintings are inspired by landscape and the drama of rapidly changing weather, light and colour. In particular, I am fascinated by the Peak District as I walk along its rugged edges. I aim to capture movement, intense light and atmosphere. My intention is to create an emotional response and negotiate the delicate balance between representation and abstraction. I studied Fine Art in Exeter, graduating in 1975. Since then I have lived, worked and painted in Sheffield. I now paint full time in a studio at home. My work has been exhibited and sold regularly, nationally and throughout the region.
