Festival: 2016

I am interested in making art about the landscape, about the light and the sky, the rock and earth, spinning atoms, the view from above, from a bird or a satellite, ancient things, time and memory.
I rarely use brushes, preferring to use my hands, to feel and forge and mould the paint, layering and scrubbing, revealing and burying, leaving behind traces, sepia imprints, dreamlike images trapped within the glaze.
I work with a range of materials including earth and sand, mixed and mulched with acrylic, oil, house paint, wood stain and varnish on canvas and on hessian.
