A brilliant weekend for only £5 a ticket (u-16s free). Our fantastic opening weekend, when art takes over the town. Over 100 artists exhibiting in every conceivable place -  a great way to explore Wirksworth, meet the artists and buy some great art. Free street music and performances all day and into the evening.

Inspiring new work by leading international and UK artists exhibited over 3 weekends in key venues, windows and sites around town. The relaxed way to see some of the region’s best contemporary visual art. Curator-led walk, artist talks plus Artists’ Film & Video Salon.

From world class to the very best home grown talent, the Festival offers two weeks packed full of exciting events. Music this year includes classical, electronic, folk, folkrock, guitar, jazz and choral work. There’s storytelling, dance, theatre, film, comedy, reading and debate. Many performances sell out fast so book early.

Community Celebration. Sunday 26 September 2010

Colourful processions wind their way through the town to meet for a spectacular finale.
A magical evening event created and performed by Wirksworth’s creative community. Come along and join in as music, dance, performance and fire sculpture bring the Festival to a spectacular close.
