New Chairperson needed for Wirksworth Festival
Wirksworth Festival is now clearly established as a leading rural art festival. An ambitious contemporary visual art programme coupled with a focused marketing strategy has seen a significant increase in the quality, reach and impact of the Festival. In 2010 we achieved record audiences, with over 10,000 people taking part and over 170 artists exhibiting in our opening weekend.
There is an enthusiastic voluntary board with a range of experience to support the successful candidate and 2 paid part time employees. We have ambitious plans for the future.
The Festival is seeking an individual for the role of Chair to replace Bill Lounds who wishes to step down in 2011 after 10 years. The role is voluntary.
Ideal candidates will offer the skills required to lead and direct the Board and organisation. You will either bring experience of the Arts or a background in business. You will have the stature to represent the festival at local, regional and national level.
This is a great opportunity to lead the festival through a period of development that will ensure sustainability of the Festival and enhance the quality of the offering.
