From world class performers to the very best home grown talent, over two packed weeks of exciting events, music, dance drama and more.

With award winning poetry, acclaimed drama and vibrant outdoor productions Wirksworth Festival offers something for everyone.  Previous years have included the multimedia theatre company Anomic with their dynamic trademark visuals, the highly acclaimed Bodies in Flight and festival favourite John Hegley as well the anarchic Jagged Fence with their bold adaptation of ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’.     

Throughout the festival you can also take part in participatory workshops, run by some of performers.  During the 2011 festival award winning poet Sue Hubbard led a fascinating writing workshop exploring how images from visual art can inspire writing and Anomic led two multimedia workshops, exploring ways to combine digital animation with live performance and the other exploring techniques for including multiple screen projection in live performance.
