We are sad to say that Wirksworth Festival 2011 is now over, but what a great three weeks it has been. The opening of the StarDisc and the Art and Architecture Trails weekend really set the tone for one of the best festivals to date. The new-for-this-year Festival Fringe programme has been a roaring success as has the graduates programme. Performance and stunning contemporary visual art has been a strong theme throughout – culminating with the fantastic Community Celebration – where around 2000 spectators gathered round the church for a fittingly spectacular finale. We would like to take this opportunity to say thanks to everyone who has been involved this year, and we look forward to seeing you all again for Wirksworth Festival 2012.
