Buying art

Wirksworth Festival is a unique opportunity to buy affordable art and distinctive pieces for your home as well as jewellery and fashion accessories. With over 150 artists exhibiting during the Trail Weekend, there’s a great choice to suit all tastes and budgets.

The time to browse and buy is during the Art and Architecture Trail weekend when you can visit artists and designer makers in the Town Hall and Memorial Hall and wander around private homes and public buildings across the town. You can meet artists, discuss their work and buy directly from them.

Buying art

There’s no pressure to buy and the Festival keeps costs reasonable for artists. Some but not all our artists are equipped for electronic point of sale (EPOS) purchase, so bring a chequebook or cash if you plan to buy.

Wirksworth Festival seeks out and encourages emerging artists and new talent, including from universities within the region so, this is the perfect opportunity to discover and buy from up and coming artists.

“Buying art supports artists directly, allowing them to continue with their creative process, which in turn continues to improve the quality of life for all of us.” Huffington Post
