We’re really pleased to share an update on where we are with our plans for this year’s Festival in September 2021.

Can we firstly say thank you, on behalf of all the trustees of the Festival, for your ongoing support since we last met in September 2019 – our last in-person Festival!  Thanks to all our members both old and new, to those who have shared work and supported artists through our Let’s Buy Art Facebook group, and to everyone who took part in and enjoyed Wirksworth Festival Online in 2020.

Although some festivals have announced they will definitely be running this year we in Wirksworth, like other festivals based in small towns, are in a different situation, particularly as our Festival is based around people opening up their own homes and visitors navigating some narrow streets throughout the town. The most important thing to us all is that we keep our town’s residents and visitors safe and so all our plans will centre around that.

Despite a certain amount of uncertainty, we have some great ideas to share with you very soon – a new film, an online space for artists, introducing you to a new artist-in-residence, plus tentative plans for physical exhibitions, so do watch this space!

We really appreciate your patience and encouragement as we work through our plans in light of an ever-changing situation.

If you would like to help the Festival, why not join our membership scheme, with options starting at just £10 a year? Find out more and join the Festival’s membership scheme here.

Thank you for sticking with us!
