Festival: 2015

I make one-off, contemporary vessels and tiles. My work is either coiled or slab built and made of Stoneware clay, often with the addition of coloured Porcelain. Living in the countryside has had a great influence on my work. Leaves, seedpods and geological formations have all been areas for study. Recently I have produced a series of forms entitled Land Layers. These pieces are built from strips of combined clays. Seasonal suggestion can be evidenced through the use of differing proportions of oxides, carbonates and glaze.
