Anna’s ceramics evoke a forgotten, childlike sense of curiosity and delight. The whimsical scenes captured within the wall pieces speak of historic grandeur and past traditions, whilst ooze a captivating and sometimes sinister undertone. Each piece has a story to tell, and tempts your imagination to conjure a narrative. The ceramic collections radiate Anna’s fascination with historic houses for their excessive decoration and bizarre collections. She is particularly hypnotised by Entomology, which led her to create a ceramic swarm of 10,000 ceramic insects in 2012. The highly successful exhibit received national and international acclaim, and the captivating insects have been scuttling into Anna’s wider collections ever since.
