My name is Fiona Gill (aka Marmaladerose). I create textural wall art, depicting animals and flowers using wool and little bit of stitch.
I work completely free hand ‘drawing’ my pictures with loose wool fibres, which are wet felted into place and embellished with free machine embroidery to give a wonderful texture.
Most recently I’ve been exploring hand embroidered portraiture after winning a national textile competition.
I enjoy making art that brings a smile to the viewer. I am self taught, developing my own techniques and signature style. As a result my work sells in UK galleries and online internationally.
