Gwin Kerry
jewellery

Festival: 2016

I use the natural warm tones of high grade copper and considered hues of vitreous enamel to create wearable artisan jewellery that encourages individual expression.
Focussing on pattern and colour, my work is inspired by personal emotional memory and the associations between pattern, colour and life events. However, far from wishing to impose my interpretations, I encourage people to explore their own reactions to the colour and pattern in my work.
Computer design, acid etching, torch firing and traditional metal-working techniques are all employed in the creation of my designs. I explore the exciting possibilities of enamel work in the peace and quiet of the Peak District in Belper, Derbyshire.
