Jane Bevan

Festival: 2022

The materials I use, thorns, bark, seeds, leaves, feathers and acorn cups, are collected whilst walking and exploring ancient woodlands near my home in South Derbyshire.

These treasured, seasonal materials, with all their tiny imperfections, are hand-stitched, tied and intricately assembled into vessels, small sculptures and 2D collage.

The resulting artworks are all unique one-off pieces encouraging us to take time to connect and look more closely at the natural world.

I also run a programme of creative nature art workshops from my studio, as well as in schools, hospitals and galleries.
