I have been making “trompe l’oeil” sculptural ceramics for many years, and am generally recognised for my handbags ,shoes and other realistic ceramic pieces featuring everyday objects
Alongside this work ,I also like to explore more abstract themes. The observational nature of realistic work does not leave enough room for inventing form.
Landscape has been a source of form ideas and my latest landscape forms have lead to a body of work which has developed from the making process. These are vessels and sculptural forms exploring the relationship between curved and angular elements .
.My work is handbuilt from slabs in stoneware and glazed with a range of stoneware glazes in an electric kiln.
