As an artist, my starting point is the love of weaving and the challenge of developing new contemporary structures involving aspects of the weaving process. Working with Red Tape has given me the opportunity to further explore these ideas. It has also enabled me to work with a committed community group in Wirksworth dedicated to uncovering their heritage and history. Here I concentrate on the archiving and shadows of the remains of old mills and instead of boxing artefacts, I am boxing and displaying the weaving process itself.
Media: Wool, nylon filament and acrylic sheet
