My work stems directly from my fascination and love of the natural world. Hares, crows, snow buntings and terns are just a few of the subjects I make in high fired ceramic and produce original lino prints of.
I work from drawings and paintings made at first hand in the field. In my studio in Derbyshire I build, model, glaze and fire each sculpture.
“ To make the creatures I have watched at first hand from a hide, moorland or lakeside is quite simply a way of enjoying them again”
I trained at Norwich, Exeter and Cardiff, attaining a Master’s Degree in Ceramics in 1987. Since then I have divided my time between making and teaching. I have exhibited nationally and internationally and my work is held in numerous private and public collections throughout the world.
