Joan Ainley
Installation

Festival: 2019

My practice includes site specific installations, editions, multiples and unique pieces. Robert Clark (The Guardian) wrote “She has a distinct taste for the conjuring of objects that have a unique drawing power but which frustrate any attempt at prosaic interpretation.” Making connections and linking the past, present and future are central to work in which leitmotifs include peace, pilgrimage, recollection and memory, both public and personal. Works are held in private, national and international public collections including Bibliothèque nationale de France, Paris, Hyman Kreitman Archive at Tate Britain, National Art Library at Victoria and Albert Museum.
