One of the many joys of living in Derbyshire is the constant companionship of dry stone wall and hawthorn hedgerow that hug and delineate the landscape. In 2018/19 I gained access to the printmaking department at Derby University through the AA2A (artists access to art colleges) programme and began considering what these edges/boundaries represented to me.
Reconnecting with the simple act of carving and printing lino, I quickly discovered achieving a quality and consistent print is anything but easy! The joy found in the process surprised me and resulted in a series of limited edition handprinted linocuts.
