Lesley Nason

Festival: 2018

Using porcelain clay I create contemporary wall art, hand built decorative vessels and jewellery inspired by the beauty of the British countryside and the flora and fauna surrounding my home in South Derbyshire.
My work uses the technique of engraved surface texture and hand drawn images into soft clay, thus making each piece unique.
Following a bisque firing, oxide, resist and crackle glaze are carefully applied to specific areas of the design, to give contrast and definition to the piece, then a final kiln firing to 1250 degrees.
