I am a multidisciplinary British contemporary artist whose work explores our relationship with the natural world and wildlife.
I draw inspiration from ornithology and colour theory. My projects often include working in collaboration with experts in the natural world including scientists, museum curators, ornithologists and photographers.
My work interprets birdsong, museum collections and conservation data into mixed media abstract portraits on paper. My recent artwork uses instinctive mark making on top of photographs of bird skins from Leicester Museum’s natural science collection. The mark making process is inspired by many hours of research to visualise information about each birds’ habitat, plumage, songs, eggs and conservation status.
