Story and myth are important influences in my work. My paintings and prints depict strong female figures that suggest both a personal and universal narrative and are influenced by symbolism, mythology, fairytale and folklore.
This new body of work combines acrylic paint and mixed media, wood, charcoal and shellac varnish with collage and surface mono printing. Printmaking is an important part of my art practice and relief print, collagraph and mono types have always progressed along-side my paintings. These new works have a surface visually rich in texture and subtle areas of detail, exploring the combination of paint, collage and printmaking.
