Festival: 2018

Having recently completed a Masters Degree in Textile Design, where I researched my Ukrainian heritage and the colours and symbols used in Ukrainian embroidery, I am seeking to apply my findings to both bespoke knitwear and hooked rag rugs. I am fascinated with colour and pattern and the sustainability of my work, and my starting point is from the Ruyshnyk, which is a highly embroidered towel passed from generation to generation. For my knitted garments I work only in natural yarns such as merino and pure new wool, and my hooked rugs use recycled and scrap fabric.
