Our imprint on the Earth’s ecosystem is indisputable, so much so that some environmental experts have stated that we are entering a new epoch, the ‘Anthropocene’.

Traditional still life painting used objects to consider the human condition beyond the table-top and although these subjects cannot exist without humanity, the still life genre offers us imagery devoid of a human presence. My work continues the practice of of objects being used as a means to represent the concerns of today by noting the overlooked interventions on nature. Human life is temporal, therefore we must be conscientious in our actions in order to safeguard the Earth for future generations.
