I am an artist and illustrator from Leeds, living and working in Derbyshire. With ink and brush and deliberately lo-grade technology, I create captioned drawings, unfinished stories and uncanny happenings, under the collective title, INKY CONDITIONS.
A graphic and scripted brevity is used to share scenarios that are open-ended, out of context; homeless. Fragments of conversation or something mumbled in a dream. A simple illustration might become a gateway to something deeper, absurd, or poignant; typically about the human condition, about grief, and often a relationship with nature.
Part-therapy: a loving and cathartic catalogue of everyday life – and death.
