Carnival of the Animals is the wonderful theme for this year’s Community Celebration, staged by Learning Through Arts in partnership with Wirksworth Festival.
There are numerous events throughout the day at different venues – you’ll find details below.
The fun kicks off at the National Stone Centre where we invite you to join us to make masks and flags before setting out on a safari art adventure of animal fun (starts 2pm). As you follow the Trail down through the Old Lane Woods, discover a variety of creatures brought to you through music, song, dance, and poetry made and performed by local performers of all ages.
The end of the Trail brings you to Stoney Wood Fire Circle where there will be a bar and food stalls for refreshments. The event will culminate in a lively ceilidh for all the family to enjoy.
