Part of the Home-Grown programme line up
featuring Kate Bellis, Sally Matthews, Lucy Peacock, Gavin Repton, Carol Fieldhouse, Brian Boothby, and Debi Hedderwick
HILL is the Story of One Derbyshire Hill told in photography, sculpture, poetry, film and song by a gathering of five artists. HILL exhibited at Buxton earlier this year, attracting national press and record numbers of visitors.
This performance installation interpretation of HILL, directed by Debi Hedderwick, has been produced especially for this year’s Town Hall Events Wirksworth Festival Performance Programme. It is a unique promenade experience of HILL with innovative curation of Kate Bellis’s original photographs and Gavin Repton’s film, live poetry by Lucy Peacock, and music by Carol Fieldhouse and Brian Boothby, alongside short contemporary movement pieces. This promises to be a very special evening and a real celebration of community and place.
Timed entry – 6pm, 7pm, 8pm & 9pm
HILL is funded by Arts Council England and this special production has been sponsored by Longcliffe Calcium Carbonates.
