Learn how to make traditional Dorset Buttons from linen, threads and a little manual dexterity. The techniques will include simple stitches, needle weaving and beading. The resulting buttons can be used to provide exact matches for home dressmaking garments or to personalise individual textile projects. Students will be able to make several samples and take away written instructions to enable them to continue developing ideas at home.
What to bring?
The tutor will supply any special materials but students should bring a basic sewing kit – needles, scissors, pins and any special beads or threads that they may like to use.
