Music and Silence at St Mary’s Church by Sixtus

Festival: 2018
Event type: Learn and Take Part Activities

Event dates:

Wednesday 19th September, 2018 - 19:00

Four-part harmony singing in the ‘Taize’ style, experienced in ancient surroundings. A warm-up, then rounds, chants and songs learnt and sung contemplatively together, with “dazzling silences” to follow.

Venue:

St Mary's Church

Doors open 30 minutes before the start of the performance

The event is suitable for the following age groups:

  • 18+

All adults are welcome; churchgoers and non-churchgoers, Christians and non-Christians alike. The music is set for four-part adult voices and the level of concentration required and the importance of periods of reflective silence make the event unsuitable for younger participants.

Hot and cold drinks will be available during a short interval
