Stars and Stories by Adverse Camber productions and Derbyshire Virtual School

Festival: 2018
Event type: Visual Art

Event dates:

Saturday 15th September, 2018 - 7:30 pm with Stargazing from 6.15pm

Come and wrap yourself up in an evening of Stars and Stories inspired by the wonders of the universe. Magical stories created and performed by young care leavers and professional storyteller Maria Whatton (The Lunar Men), will capture your imagination, entertain and inspire, whatever your age!

Enjoy a combination of new and traditional stories at Wirksworth’s celestial amphitheatre, the StarDisc. Discover the story of the Big Bang and how we’re all made from the same elements found right in the heart of the stars.

And join us for eye-opening stargazing sessions from 6.15pm as well as after the performance at around 8.30pm.

Please come dressed for the weather on the day, the performance will go ahead in all conditions! There is limited seating, feel free to bring your own chair, rug or cushion.

Everyone’s welcome, especially 7+

This project has been made possible through partnership with the Derbyshire Virtual School and significant funding from Arts Council England as well as Cooperative Community Dividend Fund, the Royal Astronomical Society, Tesco’s Bags of Help, Foundation Derbyshire, Walbrook Trust, William and Griselda Kerr Fund and the National Space Centre.
