2021’s Festival is a little smaller than usual, please check our What’s On section to find out more. Please be aware that because it’s a smaller affair, the Park & Ride Car parks and Festival buses are NOT running this year.
The two days of the Festival’s Art & Architecture Trail are packed with not just art, but also live music, street performance, street vendors, markets and more. You’ll find the town buzzing with excitement and full of people. There’s a lot to see and many visitors take the two days to experience as much as possible. There are plenty of places to relax and reflect throughout the day – pubs, cafés and pop-up venues.
Wirksworth is a small town and parking is limited so if you’re arriving by car, take advantage of the Park & Ride car parks at the Eco Centre and Haarlem Mill, where there’s a FREE Festival bus running throughout the day.
Trail Venues open on both days from 10am – 5pm and to access the venues you need to buy and wear a Festival Trail wristband at just £7 (under 18s free) per person for the whole weekend. Trail wristbands and guides are available at the Haarlem Mill Park & Ride car park, and for those arriving by train from Duffield, from the EVR station. They can also be bought from the main information point outside the library as well as at the Town Hall, Moot Hall, Memorial Hall, The Maltings (formerly known as the Parish Room), Wellspring Church and other selected venues along the Trail.
You can use this section of the website to plan your visit in detail over the Trail Weekend and throughout the whole Festival including where to park, where to eat and where to stay!
During the Trail Weekend, nearly everywhere in Wirksworth becomes a venue of some kind. You can find details of our main Festival venues here.
