How to get here
Unfortunately due to the current pandemic situation we are not holding a physical festival in 2020. We are however holding an online Festival from 11 – 13 September and details of what’s on can be found here https://www.wirksworthfestival.co.uk/events
Wirksworth is situated on the edge of the Peak District National Park at the centre of the Derbyshire Dales. The main roads into the town are the B5035 (from Ashbourne or via the A6) and the B5023 from Derby or Cromford. For Sat Nav use the town centre postcode DE4 4EU. Access a map of the area here.

Take the A38 or A6 towards Derby and follow signs for the A6 and Matlock. Follow the A6 until you reach the outskirts of Duffield. Turn left at the traffic lights onto the B5023, which is signposted Wirksworth and follow this road for about 9 miles.

Trail Weekend free Park & Ride service
As parking is very limited in Wirksworth during the Trail weekend two Park & Ride car parks are set up, one at Haarlem Mill and the other at the Eco Centre. These are serviced by two free fully accessible buses supplied by Community Transport for Town & County (CT4TC). This year we’ve added some more stops and we’re operating it as a hop on/ hop off service. So, if you want to get on at the Memorial Gardens and off at The Red Lion, then you can.
Buses start at 9.15am from the Eco Centre with the last bus leaving the Town Centre at 6.15pm, with a continuous service in-between those times picking up approximately every 15 minutes. The Park & Ride car parks will be locked overnight at 7pm each night, so please make sure you collect your car before then.
Signage is fixed on lamp posts directing visitors to the Park & Ride Car Parks and bus stop boards are placed at the following locations:
- The Eco Centre, Porter Lane, Park & Ride Car Park
- Cromford Road – Opposite Old Lane Car Park
- By Old Lane Car Park
- The Red Lion, 6.1 Trent bus stop
